BRIDGEPORT – Graham has come too far already in 2018 to be shook by facing a tight game even though the Bridgeport Bulls gave it a shot Friday night.

The Steers, who started the season 0-3, won their fourth straight as they rallied from a 17-14 deficit in the third quarter to win 35-17.

The Chase (Gilmore) was on as the Graham senior running back rushed for 251 yards and four touchdowns (3, 42, 2, 2). As a result everyone in District 3-4A Division II is chasing the Steers (4-3, 2-0). Graham is 2-0 and Krum is 0-2. The other four (Bridgeport, Iowa Park, Vernon and Aubrey) are all 1-1.

Bridgeport’s Jadon Maddux threw two touchdown passes, including an 8-yarder to Nolan Hernandez to begin the third quarter and take a 17-14 lead. But Gilmore finished two Graham possessions with 2-yard touchdowns in the third to make it 28-17 Steers.

And Hunter Lanham went for some insurance in the fourth with a 51-yard TD pass to Caleb Guinn. Lanham was 12 of 21 with 210 yards and seven different receivers made catches led by Daniel Gilbertson (4-72).

The Steers are home against Krum on Oct. 26 as they try to extend their win streak to five.
